About the Artist

Born in Hartford, Connecticut.... BFA from Hartford Art School, University of Hartford.

First impressions fuel the work of CT born artist J. Bogon Romanowski.  Working primarily from life Bogon Romanowski's figurative, still life and landscape work attempt to maintain the artist's initial vision.  Janet is best known for her figurative work and diverse subject matter.  Inspired both by her love of poetry and engaging conversations with her studio models set the stage for capturing the essence of her work.   What the observer experiences is dependent on what they personally bring; this interplay hopefully defines the connection between artist, observer and painting.  The artist maintains a studio in Marlborough, Connecticut.
